Language Resource Center Professor Letters Procedure
This procedure applies to students taking foreign language courses that utilize a language resource center. Currently, those courses include Spanish, German, and Italian.
- Student Responsibilities:

- Register with the Disability Resource Center by following appropriate DRC procedures.
- Provide documentation to verify disability and validate request for services.
- Inform Disability Specialist if taking a foreign language course and request language resource center professor letter.
- If accommodation approved by Disability Specialist, pick up professor letter from the Disability Resource Center or request that letter be sent directly to the Language Resource Center Coordinator.
- Deliver letter to Dr. Gary Baker, LRC Assistant Director, or confirm with him that he has received the letter from the DRC. Discuss specific accommodations in the letter with Dr. Baker.
- Contact your Specialist as soon as possible if problems are encountered with your accommodations in the language resource center.
- Contact Dr. Baker and inform him of any changes during semester, such as dropping class.
- Disability Resource Center Responsibilities:

- Review and staff the documentation to determine if accommodations in language resource center are warranted.
- If accommodation is approved, prepare Language Lab Professor Letter for the student.
- Communicate with student regarding option of direct mailing of letter to Dr. Gary Baker, LRC Assistant Director, or holding of letter at the Disability Resource Center for student to pick up as needed. Mail letter directly to Dr. Baker upon student's request.
- Assist the student with any problems that may occur with the Language Resource Center accommodation.
